What if it rains during the India vs England second semi-final?

IND vs ENG Semi Final Rain Chances: India and England will clash today in the second semi-final of the 2026 T20 World Cup. New Zealand advanced to the final after defeating South Africa in the first semi-final, and the winner today will face the Kiwis in the final on March 8th. The India vs England semi-final match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, starting at 7:00 PM IST. But if this match is washed out due to rain, how will the finalists be decided? You'll find the answer to this question here.

If it rains, who will be in the final?

If the semi-final match between India and England is cancelled due to rain or any other reason, there is a provision for a reserve day. This means that if the second semi-final cannot be played today, i.e., March 5th, then this semi-final match will be held on the reserve day, i.e., March 6th.

The ICC has designated a reserve day for the knockout matches of the T20 World Cup 2026. If either the semi-final or the final is unable to be played today due to rain, it will be rescheduled for the next day, i.e., March 9th.

What if the reserve day is also washed out?

If no play is played on the reserve day due to rain, the final will be decided based on the Super 8 points table. In the Super 8 points table, England won all three of their matches and earned six points, while Team India only managed two wins. If the India vs. England semi-final match is also not played on the reserve day, England will advance to the final due to their higher Super 8 points.

The good news for the Indian team is that they won't be affected by rain, as the weather in Mumbai is expected to be clear today. Temperatures during the match are expected to range from 28 degrees to 31 degrees Celsius.
