Mallikarjun Kharge in Goa: Kharge said that whatever Modi and Shah want will not always happen in the country. The national anthem cannot be changed according to the government's wishes. We have followed what has been happening in the country for years.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge targets BJP in Goa.
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has targeted the BJP over the ongoing controversy over singing the national anthem Vande Mataram. He said, "I have also sung the same song that Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and these people have been singing Vande Mataram for the last 12 years. If you want to file a case, file it against Mahatma Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. If we are guilty, then Mahatma Gandhi is also guilty. If this is the crime, then file a case against Mahatma Gandhi. If this is the crime, then file a case against Vallabhbhai Patel as well."
He said, "We sang what Jawaharlal Nehru sang. For the last 18 years, we have been singing what he sang, including 'Vande Mataram' sung by his central government under Vajpayee."
Kharge targets Prime Minister Modi
Kharge, without naming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said, "During his 12 years as Chief Minister, he also sang the same Vande Mataram song that he has been singing for so many years. If this is a crime, then he has been committing it for 18 years."
He said, "He's unaware that before he was born, Congress passed a resolution deciding which national song should be adopted for the country. It's not as if whatever Modi and Shah want will continue to happen in the country. The national anthem can't be changed to suit governments. We've followed what's been happening in the country for years. Tomorrow, another government could come to power. If they say something, will the same rule apply? We've simply continued a tradition that's been in place for 90 years."
What did Kharge say on the upcoming Goa elections and the BJP government?
Regarding the party's discussion on the upcoming assembly elections in Goa, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, "I called all our leaders and spoke with them. Everyone should fight the upcoming elections unitedly. Everyone assured us that we will fight together. Such a large Congress meeting was held in Goa. I called people from every section and spoke with them. I am happy that all the Congress leaders here are working together."
Commenting on the BJP government in Goa, Kharge said, "The government here is trying very hard to intimidate and suppress. The government here works to intimidate and suppress. This will not work. We will do whatever is necessary to ensure a peaceful election and victory. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) receives the most funding."
