If you like someone's WhatsApp status, download it like this; this trick is very useful

WhatsApp has become one of the most widely used messaging apps in the world. For many smartphone users, it's one of the first apps they install after setting up a new device. Over the years, WhatsApp has evolved from a simple messaging platform into a complete communication app with voice calls, video calls, file sharing, and the popular Status feature.

The WhatsApp Status feature allows users to share photos, videos, text updates, and GIFs that disappear after 24 hours. Since its launch, it has become a favorite way for people to share everyday moments with friends and family.

Sometimes, you might find a photo or video status that you'd like to keep. Taking a screenshot works for images, but saving a video status isn't as easy. Fortunately, there's an easy way for Android users to access and save WhatsApp status files without using a third-party status downloader app.

How to save WhatsApp status photos and videos

Follow these steps on your Android smartphone:

Step 1: Install the Files by Google app

If the Files by Google app isn't already available on your phone, download and install it from the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Turn on Hidden Files

Open the app, tap the menu or Settings option, and turn on Show hidden files. This lets you view folders that are hidden by default.

Step 3: Open your file manager

Launch the Files app or your phone's file manager and go to your device's internal storage.

Step 4: Find the WhatsApp Status folder

Go to the folder below:

Internal storage → WhatsApp → Media → .Statuses

This folder contains photos and videos from WhatsApp statuses you've recently viewed.

Step 5: Save the status

Select the image or video you want to keep and copy or move it to a different folder on your phone, such as Pictures, Movies, or Downloads. Once saved there, it will remain on your device even after the original WhatsApp Status disappears.

Things to remember:
You can only save statuses you've already viewed.
Status updates are only available for 24 hours, so save them before they expire.
Respect others' privacy and avoid sharing or reposting someone's status without their permission.
The exact folder location may vary slightly depending on your WhatsApp version and Android device.
