While the budget session of Parliament is witnessing a heated debate between the opposition and the ruling party, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale's speech in the Rajya Sabha is gaining attention. He once again delivered a speech in the House in his poetic and humorous style.
Athawale said that the UPA did a good job of not making him a minister. Discussing the President's address during the motion of thanks, Athawale said, "I was with the Congress party. I met the Social Justice Minister several times on social justice issues. The Congress party did nothing."
Had the UPA made me a minister, I would not have come here: Rahul Gandhi
He said, "That's not true, but I didn't do as much as I should have. I was in the UPA. Had they made me a minister then, I wouldn't have come here. It was a good thing they didn't. I was a minister there for five years. Here, I've been a minister for 13 years."
Addressing the Deputy Speaker, he said, "Thank you. Congress is facing defeat everywhere." He also announced that Modi would become Prime Minister for the fourth time, and predicted that he would become a minister for the fourth time in the NDA government. He also thanked the President for his address.
PM Modi thanks the President for his address in the Rajya Sabha
PM Modi delivered a vote of thanks to the President's address in the Rajya Sabha. He said that whether it's the BJP or the NDA, our approach to issues, our perspective, and our vision for solutions are completely different from those of the Congress. The difference is as vast as heaven and earth. Let me give you an example. We believe that 1.4 billion Indians are very capable and can solve the problems they face on their own. This is our thinking. We trust the people of this country, we trust their strength and their capabilities. And this trust is the foundation and strength of democracy. But the Congress considers the people of this country to be the problem.
