How much will the iPhone 18 Pro Max cost in India?
Apple launched the iPhone 18 Pro Max in the US with a starting price of $1,299. This price is $100 more than last year's iPhone 17 Pro Max. So, the biggest question on Indian customers' minds is: how much will this phone cost in India? Looking at the launch prices of the iPhone Pro Max in the US and India over the past four years, an interesting pattern emerges.
The price difference between the US and India over four years
There's a significant difference between the US starting price of the iPhone Pro Max and its price in India if we look at the data from 2022 to 2025. In 2022, the US price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max was $1,099, while its starting price in India was ₹139,900.
Apple set the US price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,199 in 2023. Its 256GB model was launched in India for Rs 1,59,900.
The US price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max in 2024 remained at $1,199, but the starting price in India dropped to Rs 144,900. This was for the 256GB model.
The US price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max in 2025 was again $1,199, while its starting price in India was Rs 1,49,900.
This means that over the past four years, the starting price of the Pro Max in India has risen from ₹139,900 to ₹149,900. A price reduction was also observed in 2024.
Now, how much will the price increase from the price of $1,299?
The situation is slightly different for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. This time, Apple has increased the price by $100 to $1,299 in the US alone. This means that the change isn't just in dollar terms, but it will also be reflected in India.
If the price difference between the US and India in the past years is taken as a basis, then the Indian starting price of the $1,299 iPhone 18 Pro Max could be around Rs 1,64,900 to Rs 1,69,900.
Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro Max started at ₹149,900 in India. If Apple adds a significant portion of the $100 increase in the US price to the Indian price, a possible increase of around ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 is possible. Consequently, the price could reach around ₹159,900 to ₹164,900.
The starting price could go up to Rs 1.7 lakh.
