Applicants should plan their travel accordingly and reach the venue sufficiently early to avoid problems during document submission.
Who Can Apply for Haryana Police SPO Recruitment?
This recruitment is not an open recruitment drive for all Class 12 pass candidates. It is meant for specific categories of eligible former personnel.
The opportunity is available to eligible ex-servicemen from the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), along with eligible former constables of the disbanded HSISF and HAP battalions.
Applicants must fulfil the eligibility requirements specified in the recruitment notification.
Age and Educational Qualification
The applicant should be between 25 and 50 years of age as on the date specified in the advertisement.
Candidates should have passed Class 12 and should possess at least five years of service experience in the Armed Forces or CAPFs, as applicable to their category.
Applicants should carefully verify all eligibility conditions before reporting for the selection process.
Service Record Will Also Matter
A candidate's previous service record will play an important role in determining eligibility.
Applicants should not have been dismissed or removed from previous service on grounds such as misconduct, indiscipline or medical unfitness under the conditions specified in the recruitment notice.
Their medical category at the time of discharge should meet the prescribed requirement. The discharge character certificate should also carry the required rating.
Candidates with previous experience in handling telecommunication equipment are expected to receive preference. Relevant experience in units such as the Signals Corps can therefore be useful for this recruitment.
No Written or Physical Test
One of the biggest highlights of Haryana Police SPO Recruitment 2026 is the selection procedure.
Candidates will not have to take a written examination or physical test for these 400 posts.
Instead, the selection process will primarily involve verification of documents and eligibility, medical examination and verification of the applicant's character and previous service background.
Candidates who are finally selected will also have to undergo a 15-day capsule training course before deployment.
How Much Salary Will Selected SPOs Get?
Selected Special Police Officers will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹20,000.
The amount will be deposited directly into the selected candidate's bank account.
Apart from the monthly payment, selected SPOs will also be eligible for a one-time uniform allowance of ₹3,000. For eligible official tours, TA/DA of ₹150 per day will also apply according to the prescribed conditions.
Candidates should note that these are SPO engagements and should not be confused with regular permanent police appointments.
Documents Candidates Should Carry
Applicants should keep all required paperwork ready before reaching the reporting centre. The prescribed documents include the completed application form, original certificates, one set of attested photocopies of the required documents, prescribed affidavit and four passport-size colour photographs.
There is no application fee for the recruitment process.
Candidates should nevertheless read the original notification carefully to make sure they carry every document required for their particular category.
How Long Will the Appointment Last?
The engagement is initially expected to be for one year and may continue subject to the conditions laid down by Haryana Police, including the availability of regular personnel.
Selected SPOs will generally not be posted at their home police station. However, preference for posting in the home district may be considered depending on vacancies and administrative requirements.
For eligible former Armed Forces and CAPF personnel, the recruitment offers an opportunity to join the Haryana Police Telecommunication Wing without going through a conventional written recruitment examination.
Candidates should remember the most important requirement: report at the Panchkula venue by 9:00 AM on the date assigned to their district between August 24 and 27, 2026.
Disclaimer: Recruitment eligibility, vacancies, honorarium and selection procedures are subject to the official Haryana Police notification. Candidates should verify the original recruitment notice before reporting for document submission.
