Fastag Tips- Toll will be cheaper from Independence Day, now FASTag pass will also be made

This news is for those who regularly travel on the highway, as the central government has introduced a game-changing policy that can make your travel easier, faster and more economical. From August 15, 2025, private vehicle owners can get an annual FASTag pass for ₹ 3000, let's know the full details about it

What is the new FASTag annual pass?

Under the new scheme, private non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans will be eligible for a FASTag-based ₹ 3000 annual pass. It will work like this:

Validity: The pass remains valid for one year or 200 highway trips from the date of activation - whichever is earlier.

Target audience: Designed specifically for private vehicle owners, especially those who regularly cross toll plazas within a limited distance from their homes or workplaces.

Why has this policy been introduced?

Many people living in cities or nearby suburbs pass through the same toll plazas daily - often within a radius of 60 kilometres. For them, paying toll every time becomes not only expensive but frustrating.

This ₹300 annual pass aims to:

Reduce daily toll fees

Reduce waiting time at toll plazas

Support smooth, cashless highway travel

According to Gadkari, the goal is to simplify toll collection through a one-time digital transaction instead of repeated payments - ensuring convenience and transparency.
