Rajiv Shukla reacts to Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation

Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as Education Minister on Saturday, July 25th. BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said he welcomed the Minister's decision to resign. He called it a victory for the unity of India's students, youth, and the opposition. Rajeev Shukla is a Rajya Sabha MP from the Congress Party representing Chhattisgarh.

Following the NEET paper leak, the CJP had been staging a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar for the past 36 days. Demands for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were consistently growing. Finally, on Saturday, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post.

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla wrote on social media, "I welcome the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This is a victory for the unity of India's youth, students and the opposition."

 

Strict decisions are expected from the government

Rajiv Shukla further stated in his statement that he hopes the government will take strict measures to prevent future paper leaks. He added, "There is a dire need for comprehensive reforms in the education sector. Our youth and students are the future of this country. We must listen to them."

The BCCI vice president had previously issued a statement on this issue. Before resigning, Shukla accused the government of shying away from the issue, while the opposition has been insisting that Dharmendra Pradhan resign from office.
