To use Live Text, first open your iPhone's Camera app. Point the camera at the text you want to use. Once a yellow frame appears around the text, tap the Live Text icon. You can then select the text and use different options as needed.

Copy and share without typing

Imagine you've got some long text written on a notice, book, or poster. There's no need to look it up and retype it. Select the text from Live Text, copy it, and paste it into Notes, Messages, Mail, or any other app. You can even send it directly using the Share option.

Translate foreign languages ​​instantly

Another useful feature of Live Text is text translation. Point a restaurant menu, street sign, or text in another language at the camera, select it, and tap the Translate option. Depending on the available languages, your iPhone may display a translation.

Direct action on the number and website

If a phone number, email address, or website appears in the photo or camera frame, Live Text also displays a Quick Action directly for that number. This makes it easy to call the number, initiate an email, or open the website. In some cases, an option to convert currency may also appear.

Live Text isn't limited to the camera. Text can also be recognized in photos and supported videos in the Photos app. In a video, pause and select the text, then use options like Copy, Translate, Search Web, or Share.
