China Artificial Sun: China is making an artificial sun; how will it change the world's technology?

China's Artificial Sun: China isn't going to hang a new star in the sky. In reality, it's a massive machine, known scientifically as a nuclear fusion reactor.

China's fake sun

China Artificial Sun: In the technological world, China always achieves something that surprises the entire world. This time too, China is going to do something similar, hearing about which the entire world will be shocked. Actually, China is working on a project which is being called Artificial Sun. Now you may be wondering, when the real sun exists in the sky, which provides light to the entire world, then why did China feel the need to create a new sun separately? And if this sun is actually created, what changes will it bring in our lives and yours?

What is China's artificial sun?

First, let's be clear: China isn't going to hang a new star in the sky. In reality, this is a massive machine, known as a nuclear fusion reactor in scientific parlance. This machine operates on the same technology as the real sun, which provides us with heat and light. China aims to complete this project by 2030.

Why is China making it?

China is building it to meet its electricity needs. Today, we use coal, diesel, or gas to generate electricity. All of these will eventually become obsolete, but with this new technology, China could generate electricity for millions of years without interruption. Another important reason is to reduce pollution. Burning coal produces a lot of smoke and pollution, which increases the risk of global warming. However, this artificial sun will not emit any smoke or toxic gases, and it will generate completely clean energy. Furthermore, modern nuclear power plants pose the risk of explosions and release hazardous waste, but this new technology from China poses no such risk. It is completely safe.

How technology will change the world

If this project is fully successful, the future of the world will be completely transformed. When the cost of generating electricity is virtually eliminated, every household will have access to very cheap or nearly free electricity. Manufacturing goods in factories will become cheaper, potentially leading to cheaper mobile phones, televisions, and vehicles. Furthermore, this technology will be used in future rocket engines. This will enable our spacecraft to travel so fast that a journey to Mars could take days instead of months.

Today, the world faces a severe shortage of drinking water. With the help of this unlimited solar energy, salty seawater can be converted into potable freshwater at a very low cost. While artificial intelligence (AI) and large computers require a lot of power to operate, this technology will make the internet and computers much faster.
