  • Bumrah will be kept away from the leadership role on the England tour
  • Big decision under continuous injury and workload management

New Delhi: The Indian team is to tour England at the end of June. A five-Test match series will be played on the one-and-a-half month long tour. The Indian team management wants to go with a different plan in this series which is important in terms of the next World Test Championship. If reports are to be believed, pace attack leader and vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will hardly be seen in a leadership role. You will remember that in the last Test match India played, Rohit Sharma dropped himself, after which Jasprit Bumrah took over the captaincy.

According to the news published in the Indian Express, a BCCI source said, "We want a player who is available for all five Test matches and he should be given the role of vice-captain. Bumrah will not play all five matches, so we do not want to appoint different vice-captains for different matches. It would be better if the captain and vice-captain are sure and play all five Tests."
