Apple has been ramping up its production in India for some time now. Now, there are reports that the company may mass-produce its first foldable iPhone in India.

Foldable iPhone Production in India: American tech giant Apple has recently accelerated its production in India. For the first time, all models of the iPhone 17 series are being produced in India, and Made in India iPhones will be sold in the US from the first day of sales. Meanwhile, news has emerged that Apple may mass-produce its first foldable iPhone in India. The company has planned to conduct test production in Taiwan and mass-produce it in India by 2026, and is in talks with suppliers for this purpose.
More than 9 crore units will be produced
According to media reports, Apple will produce a total of 95 million units of its upcoming lineup in 2026. This is a 10 percent increase from last year. To achieve this, Apple will first build a mini pilot line in Taiwan, where equipment will be tested and fine-tuned. After making the necessary improvements, the same process will be implemented in India, where the foldable iPhone will be mass-produced. However, Apple has not yet officially stated this.
The first foldable iPhone will be launched next year
Apple plans a major overhaul of its iPhone lineup over the next three years. This has already begun with the launch of the iPhone Air. Following this, the first foldable iPhone will be launched next year. According to reports, the foldable iPhone will feature four cameras: two on the rear, and one each on the inner and cover screens. This phone will only support eSIMs and will not have a physical SIM slot. It will replace FaceID with Touch ID, and when folded, this iPhone is expected to be 9-9.5mm thick.
Launching and Price
Apple is expected to launch a foldable iPhone with the iPhone 18 series next year. Its price in India is expected to start around ₹1.75 lakh (approximately $1.75 lakh). However, this hasn't been officially confirmed yet.
