Rahul Gandhi fires at the government over General Naravane's book
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament on Wednesday (February 4), Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks in the House, I will give him this book of Naravane ji.
Rahul Gandhi said that this is Naravane's book, which he has written in full detail. I have been told I cannot quote from the book, but it is fully written. Rahul Gandhi said that it contains the main line, and the Prime Minister has said that you should do whatever you deem appropriate.
Speaking to reporters, Rahul Gandhi
said that when Chief of Army Staff General Naravane called Rajnath Singh and asked him what he should do, "Chinese tanks have arrived at Kailash Ridge." Initially, Rajnath Singh didn't respond. He further stated that he asked Jaishankar, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and even the NSA, but received no response.
Rahul Gandhi said he then called Rajnath Singh. Rajnath Singh said, "I'll ask the top brass, and the top brass's orders were that if Chinese forces enter our territory, they won't fire without first informing me." Naravane and the army wanted to fire at that time, but Narendra Modi sent a message to do whatever they deemed appropriate.
"Narendra Modi didn't understand his responsibility."
Rahul Gandhi alleged, adding that Narendra Modi didn't understand his responsibility. He told the Army to do what they deemed appropriate. "It's beyond my control." He further pointed out that Naravane wrote in his book, "At that time, I was completely alone and helpless." Finally, Rahul Gandhi reiterated that he would personally present the book to the Prime Minister when he returns to the House.
