Summer Health Tips: Milk with sugar acts as an energy drink during the summer heatwave. The Ministry of AYUSH has suggested home remedies to keep the body cool, hydrated, and energized during Nautapa.

Ways to keep the body cool
Summer Health Tips: Many states across the country are currently experiencing intense heat and heatwaves. According to the Meteorological Department, Nautapa will last from May 25th to June 2nd. During this period, the sun's heat is considered to be at its highest, and temperatures can exceed 45 degrees in many areas. In light of this, the Ministry of AYUSH and the Department of Health have issued special advice for the public.
The ministry has suggested several home remedies to keep the body cool and hydrated. The most discussed recommendation is to drink milk with added sugar. The ministry says this can help energize the body and prevent dehydration. Buttermilk, coconut water, lemonade, sattu, and seasonal fruits have also been touted as providing relief from the heat.
Why is milk with sugar considered beneficial?
In extreme heat, water and essential minerals are lost from the body through sweat. This causes problems like weakness, fatigue, and dizziness. According to experts, milk contains essential elements like calcium, potassium, protein, and water, which help strengthen the body. Sugar, on the other hand, provides instant energy. For this reason, the Ministry of AYUSH recommends drinking milk with sugar during the summer. Especially during the Nautapa season, when the risk of heat wave is high, it can provide some relief to the body. Some doctors say that cold milk helps cool the body from within and can reduce weakness. Milk is also considered a calming agent in Ayurveda.
